Project Overview Sewer System Improvements

This project consists of replacing the existing fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) weirs and baffles as well as the existing painted steel skimmer arms on Clarifiers 1 and 2 at the H.C. Morgan WPCF. The project will involve replacing the existing FRP weirs and baffles with stainless steel weirs and baffles that are not subjected to warping or corrosion.

The project has a total capital budget of $1,600,000.00 and is anticipated to finish by Oct 31, 2024.

The contract was awarded to Schmidt Environmental Construction by City Council on October 3, 2023. The preconstruction Meeting was held 11/29/2023. The Notice to Proceed was issued to Schmidt Environmental Construction effective 1/22/2024 and the contract time to final completion is 270 calendar days. The first monthly project meeting was held with contractor on March 22, 2024. Material deliveries are ongoing. The contractor expects to mobilize late April or early May 2024.
